Dartmoor National Park sits in the heart of Devon, England, and invites travelers to step into a landscape that has changed little over thousands of years. Rolling moorland, deep river valleys, and more than 450 miles of paths give visitors space to explore at their own pace. Ancient stone rows, circular dwellings, and burial cairns spread across the moorland are reminders of people who lived here as far back as the Bronze Age.

From dramatic granite outcrops known locally as “tors” to quiet river valleys, Dartmoor’s terrain is full of surprises. The rugged profile of Haytor and the weathered rocks of Hound Tor are striking sights and popular with those who enjoy wide views and quiet spaces. Hidden paths lead to deep pools ideal for cooling off on warm days, and ancient stone slab clapper bridges such as the one at Postbridge carry walkers across rivers that have shaped the land for millennia.
